I've been sick for a very long time -- I've tried haphazardly to begin again, and perhaps this time I will succeed. I loved this article -- it always amazes me when someone tries to remake what is obviously a film that will stand on its own forever. I haven't seen Charade in a long time, but I will remedy that soon. You did your usual witty and fascinating post. I hope you are all well.ClassicBeckyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03591715859057540467noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-509497574816685109.post-35591817643326855572015-08-21T19:08:47.703-04:002015-08-21T19:08:47.703-04:00Have a great weekend, Kelly! :-D

Ben Affleck and David Fincher are working on an update to another of my favorites, Strangers on a Train, and if done right, could be great. There was Witness for the Prosecution (Billy Wilder), Arabesque (Stanly Donen) and Obsession (Brian DePalma). My daughter is a great admirer of Audrey Hepburn and I always agree with her. I'm glad you were open to the possibility of a remake, even though it turned out to stink. In the old days, studios would suppress the older movie. MGM nearly destroyed all prints of the silent Ben Hur. Now we can enjoy both versions, or not in the case of Charade. I typically stay away from remakes, as it seems very cheap and lazy...especially if the original was close to perfect. However, I can be a tad hypocritical and can maybe accidentally enjoy a remake from time to time. That being said, a remake of Stangers on a Train doesn't intrigue me at all. Mostly because I don't really care for the original (please don't throw anything at me!)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04035622207399375201noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-509497574816685109.post-77496241024165396552015-08-15T21:15:23.109-04:002015-08-15T21:15:23.109-04:00What's not to love?
