AFTER THE THIN MAN Remix: Mystery Dates!

Hey, everybody, in honor of the Classic Film and TV Cafe Dogathon, I did a sort of re-mix of my 2010 post of After the Thin Man, the sparkling sequel to The Thin Man (1934), with more fun facts about Skippy, the adorable wirehaired fox terrier who played Nick and Nora Charles' beloved pooch Asta in the first two Thin Man films, plus more pictures and rib-tickling GIFs! Every dog has its day during the Dogathon! Click here to give it a look and join the fun! Feel free to leave a comment or two! :-)

  3. I heard a story once that Skippy parlayed his earnings as an actor into a couple of start up businesses. He first tried his paw at a company which built three-masted sailing vessels but, as some of you might imagine, there wasn't much of a market for them and it eventually folded. Skippy had much better results with a computer company. Putting it another way: his barque was worse than his byte.

  6. One of the better recognized pets, or at the very least almost all obvious, seemed to be Skippy, any. e. any. Asta, which made an appearance in several motion pictures in the 1930s. Asta, any Wire-haired Monk Terrier, seemed to be the greatest compensated doggy star regarding the occasion, not forgetting likely the most smart. At the optimum, this feisty and also ingenious fellow seemed to be generating $250 per day. The filmography consists of such greats for the reason that Skinny Gentleman (and various other records within the Skinny Gentleman franchise), Your Terrible Simple fact, Bringing up Little one and also Cover Swallows a Getaway (his final film before retiring).
